South Africa and the world are facing difficult times and we are all having to adapt our lives and our work to respond to the coronavirus pandemic and specifically how to keep children and communities safe. SmartStart’s top priority is to support our SmartStarters, parents and children, and the communities that they live in and to that end we have developed a short online course to support ECD programmes to reopen safely in response to COVID. This training is based on the government guidelines and directions that govern the opening of ECD programmes.
The government wants to support ECD programmes to re-open in a safe way. This means that before you re-open your programme, you must put in place special measures that will help to reduce the risk of Coronavirus infection. The government has issued a Self-Assessment Form, Standard Operating Procedures and special Directions which sets out what these measures are. This courses has three trainings that explain all that is required.
The three short trainings are:
- How to reopen our programmes safely
- Standard operating procedures for ECD Programmes in the time of COVID-19
- Adapting your programme to respond to COVID-19
Once you have watched the videos and read the notes, complete this quizzes to check your understanding. You will be able to redo the quizzes as many times as you need to be successful and will be guided with right answers. Once you have completed ALL THREE Quizzes successfully, SmartStarters will get a certificate of completion. Good Luck! If you struggle, ask your coach for assistance.
