Children’s Amendment Bill tabled in Parliament

On 22nd February 2019, the government tabled the Children’s Amendment Bill in parliament.

The Bill contains a range of amendments to the Children’s Act 2005, including changes to Chapters 5 and 6 of the Act on partial care and early childhood development. Some of the changes seek to bring the Act into line with definitions in the National Integrated ECD Policy.

The Bill is unlikely to start its parliamentary passage before May’s election and will therefore be re-tabled after the election.
